Malaysia for ALL Malaysians

Well about 2000 people protested in Penang yesterday because the new MB of Penang wanted to promote open tender system and to phase out NEP. This protest was led by UMNO in Penang to show their unhappiness on the proposal. Isn't open tender system a better way to go? Are Malay contractors not confident enough to enter themselves in the open tender system? I think Malay contractors are more capable then what the UMNO pictured them to be. This just goes to show that UMNO themselves have no confidence in their own people. They felt that the Malay contractors are being marginalised. Furthermore, the call for the Federal Government to cancel all projects meant for Penang is nothing more than an act of revenge. Yes, Malaysians did vote against the BN. Yes, Malaysians wanted change. Yes, Malaysians did voiced out Enough is Enough. But what funds for projects that are already allocated are considered done deals and UMNO should not deprive Penangites and the rest of Malaysia from it. UMNO should show good faith in the true spirit of democracy and see to it that these projects are all carried out transparently and for the good of all. After all UMNO keep saying time and time again that all Malaysians are their concern so don't back down from your pledge.

Malaysian Politics In A Mess

Cracks have been found in the Opposition Coalition! Why are the Rakyat not surprised? It was only a matter of time before something like this happened. The only thing that surprised us all was that it happened sooner than later. We would have thought that our Opposition Coalition would have tried to form the State Government first before washing their dirty laundries in public. DAP's respond to the appointment of a PAS member as the MB of Perak just goes to show that the DAP does not trust PAS at all. The only link is PKR between the two parties. I think all three party should just merge as one or the very least work out an agreement that they can live with. Ultimately they can always agree to disagree with one another.

The simple truth is that United We Stand. Divided We Fall. The Rakyat doesn't really care who becomes MB but how the State Government will be run under the Opposition Coalition. Will the Rakyat be the main benefactor in all the policies that are being made and carried out? Will the livelihood of the Rakyat be better under the new regime? Will the wealth of the State be more evenly distributed so that the poor have the chance to improve their standard of living? Overall, will the Opposition Coalition care more about themselves or the Rakyat that put them there in the first place? That is what concerns us all.

East Malaysians are looking really hard at the progress of these five States and will be monitoring their progress very closely. If you do well, then we can and will see a change in Government in the next State and Federal Election. Afterall it was East Malaysian that kept BN in power this time. Without East Malaysian.... wow I don't even dare to imagine the impact so lets just stop here.

What Should We As The Rakyat Do?

Yesterday we talked about how the political landscape has changed overnight and what we are expecting from our Wakil Rakyats. Make no mistake but we the Rakyat are indeed expecting alot from them. Remember what has been said over and over again, we the Rakyat voted you in and we the Rakyat will vote you out if you don't perform. This will be the constant reminder from the people because we have expressed our feelings clearly that enough is enough.

Judging by what I have read on blogs and other newsletters, it is very clear that Malaysians have indeed matured in their thinking. Criticism is now done more openly and people are beginning to speak their mind. This will only augurs well for all Malaysians. We should stand up for our rights and fight for equality in all aspects. At the same time, we should also help one another regardless of race and religion to better each others living standard. When we all experience prosperity and are able to provide a better life for our families, the tendency of accusing one another and causing racial tensions will die a natural death. This is because everyone is sharing the fruits of their labour and not only selected people are enjoying better benefits while others are left to suffer. No one in their right mind would want to throw away a good life they have built for themselves. With support from one another, anything is possible. Malays, Chinese, Indians and all other races should stand as one... MALAYSIANS!

So the time has come for all Malaysians to look to our left and right and take the necessary steps to help our neighbours. It is the first step we take that will make all the differences. We cannot just keep on waiting for the other party to make their first move. This is not like going to a party where the guys and girls sit on opposite sides of the dance floor while waiting for an invitation to dance. We must pass that hurdle now and be bold to make the first move. Only then will true change comes to improve all our lives.

A New Dawn For Malaysian

Well a new dawn has arrived and as the dust settles all Malaysians are waiting eagerly to see what's next. I guess it is not about how badly BN has lost in the 12th General Election but it is about what the Opposition will now do since the playing field is now more levelled than before. As many have said, the Opposition will now be closely monitored by the Rakyat and if they do not live up to their promises, the wind of change might happen again in the next General Election. In all instances, we the Rakyat have shown our displeasure with BN and now wants to see what the Opposition can do to change Malaysia for the betterment of all races.

BN has only themselves to blame for the major loss of support and confidence of the Rakyat. They must now lick their own wounds and pick themselves up to prove to the Rakyat they can deliver. Otherwise, by the next general election, they might become irrelevant altogether. Everybody deserves a second chance but just make sure it doesn't take another 50 years!

The Chinese and Indians and all other non Malays are not asking for any special privileges but just to be treated fairly in all aspects. Afterall, we together as one nation have been building this country since day one. That is why people are just asking for a fair share of the country's wealth. Throughout Malaysia only Sabah and Sarawak has not been affected by the wind of change. Perhaps there are reasons why the Rakyat in these States have voted for BN or perhaps the wind of change will only come later. Maybe the Rakyat are waiting to see how States like Penang, Selangor, Perak and Kedah will fair under the Opposition's rule. Perhaps during the next State Election for Sarawak or 13th General Election will the wind of change apply to Sabah and Sarawak. This also depends on how the current State Government for Sabah and Sarawak run their affairs of business from here on.

Sarawak has issues it must address and try to change. One such issue relates to Government Compulsory Acquisition. This issue affect everyone irregardless to race. In the Peninsular, any notices by the Government to acquire one's land automatically lasped/expire after two years. Only in Sarawak there are still lands which are under Section 47 Notices (Government Acquisition Notices) for more than 10 or even 20years. Therefore when the State Government acquire these lands, compensation are paid based on the Market Values of lands as at the Section 47 date. How sickening will that be when you as an investor was hoping to sell that piece of land later for your children's education? We think it is time people take note some changes needs to be done here.

Malaysia is a beautiful country and I am proud to be called a Malaysian. I believe in unity of all races and be acknowledged as a Malaysian only. Forget about being Malaysian Chinese, Indian or Bumiputra. All these thinking needs to be put on the back burner so that we can all prosper as one nation. The alarm clock has rung and we the Rakyat have shown what People's Power really meant. From here onwards, the political practice of all parties should take note that we the Rakyat are watching your every move.

Till then, have a good day and may be all be blessed with Peace and Prosperity
